My Dearest Colleen,

The Christmas season is upon us once more, and it rekindles the thoughts that penetrated my being when I knew you were the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life. The holiday stories speak of sugar-plums, sleigh rides, or mythical beings, and in our first year together I had already received all of those things, and more, in our relationship. It was a dream come true for me, a fairy tale in the making, and a song the bards would sing for ages.

I revist those thoughts regularly and over the years they are still the same thoughts that draw me closer to you. They have grown a beautiful patina across them that tells me they have been there for years and will continue to remain and weather the storms that life throws at us. The budding thoughts from the beginning have grown into wishes, and those wishes being fulfilled have given birth to dreams that you and I hold dear and talk about.

The circle is completed once more, for Christmas has always been a special holiday for me that speaks of dreams and wishes.

I dream of you and I enjoying or days together, and I dream that those days granted by God may be many. I wish and pray for us that those days together may be joyous and that peace be found in our lives. What I wish for most is that the blessing of our love continue to grow and hold us dear to one another, regardless of what life throws at us, and because of what life brings.
