I love you like a brother.
You were there when I needed you the most at the absolute worst point in my life. You helped me to rebuild my life into what it is now.
I’ll never forget when you said to me that friends don’t keep score.
You’ll never know how much you did for me in my time of need and I feel like I’ll never be able to repay you fully.
I know that I have a true friend in you.

I am blessed with many friendships. Many of which have spanned 3 and 4 decades now. You, of course, would be one of those. But, there are only a few people I can say I “truly” trust. You are and have been one of those friends for years whether you knew it or not.
True, I was there to see you at your worst.Someone going through what you went through could have easily thrown a pity party and continue to “invite” people to it. You however, positioned yourself to come through this thing a better person and have earned the respect of a lot of folks in doing so. You have proven yourself a “self made” man and have shown “true” honor in your character. Because of this, you were able to begin to rebuild a better future for yourself. Thanks for the kind words, but the kudos go to you my friend.
Well written, but I did not do it all by myself and had plenty of good examples on hand in my attempt to emulate. And I did have my moments of self-pity. I’m just a man who experienced things that a lot of other men have experienced. I don’t feel I did anything unique. I did have to dig deep to rebuild myself as a person. That process continues. I admire you greatly for what you’ve endured and overcome. You are a true friend.
