FOREVER LOVE

Evening breezes whisper passage through
a window framed in violet, then breathe their tender sighs
across my skin as twilight shadows move across the room.

Drifting, half awake, sleepy thoughts of yesterday
float through my mind and walk me down the shady path to
the place where you were left to rest, alone, so many
years before.

Through silvery mist with hand outstretched, unchanged
by time, you move toward me slowly and the years between no
longer matter. . . . .we’re together once again in my silken
dreams.
